Nintendo provides a free parental controls system for the Switch that can be managed entirely from your smartphone. No third-party apps or subscriptions required. You can set play time limits, restrict games by age rating, disable online communication, and receive daily play time reports.
The Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app is available free on iOS and Android. This is the easiest way to manage settings and monitor usage.
- Download "Nintendo Switch Parental Controls" from the App Store or Google Play
- Open the app and sign in with your Nintendo Account (or create one)
- On the Switch, go to System Settings > Parental Controls > Parental Controls Settings
- Select Use Your Smart Device
- Enter the registration code shown on the Switch into the app
